About CCRT
Our mission is simple but powerful: to provide direct support and referral services to Pontiac residents with unmet emergency basic-living needs. It is surprising to realize how many people need this support at some point in their lives. About 38% of Pontiac residents live below the poverty line. For them, it takes just one financial hurdle to send their lives into catastrophe and possibly one act of kindness, generosity and support to help them begin anew.

WORKSHOP #2 ~ DECEMBER 9th from 12 o'clock to 3:30 pm Micro - & Macro Aggressions & Experience a Global Holiday CCRT's DEI WORKSHOP #2 was held on Friday, December 9th at the United Wholesale Mortgage Sports Complex in Pontiac. Building Bridges Between Communities!
Workshop #2 started with 40 participants enjoying a delicious lunch followed with GM Affinity Group speakers who shared holiday traditions and customs. The participants also enjoyed homemade desserts represented by GM Affinity Group speakers: Yuxiu (Crystal) Zhang - China, Simona Feier - Romania, Daniela Natcheva – Bulgaria, Rosanna Hull - Brazil and Laura Pangori (CCRT) - Ukraine.
Tish Lewis-Turner, TLS Collaborative Solutions reviewed homework assignments with "Learning to become Comfortable with the Uncomfortable".

Megan Fuciarelli, Founder & CEO of US 2 Consulting, reviewed the Core Principals from Workshop #1 and presented a 90 minute discussion on Micro & Macro Aggressions. All participants agreed that we must intentionally include so as not to unintentionally exclude. Also, growth occurs in discomfort and explicit conversations around micro-aggressions are helpful because the impact of words is more important than the intent. Once we know better, we MUST do better!
The workshop ended with speaker Vickie Trent-Touray, VBTOURAY Empowerment Events, who shared the history, tradition and music of Kwanzaa Holiday.
Barbara Williams, CCRT Director thanked our sponsor Catholic Foundation of Michigan, speakers and participants. Barbara said, "Growth occurs when we experience and work through uncomfortable situations. Joy, is also a result of new discovery!"

Fragility & Privilege and Generational Wealt

WORKSHOP #4 ~ JUNE 12th from 12 o'clock to 3:30 pm Becoming Anti-Discriminatory & Bridges to Generational Wealth.
