ABOUT Us

Our Story
Founded in 2004 by the ten parishes of the Pontiac Vicariate within the Detroit Archdiocese, C.C.R.T. was created to address several pressing needs:
- A Vicariate divided by I-75, creating two very different worlds.
- A population where many live at or below the poverty level.
- Limited capacity of St. Vincent DePaul (Pontiac, MI) to respond to all requests for assistance.
- The need to coordinate support across parishes.
- A desire to live out the Gospel through solidarity and volunteer-driven acts of charity and justice.
FAITH ~ FRIENDSHIP ~ SERVICE
- Faith that guides and blesses C.C.R.T. every day.
- Friendship that strengthens and sustains our work.
- Service made possible by our 100+ dedicated volunteers.
"You see the basic inequity,” says Director Barbara Williams. “It’s about sharing the resources available in Pontiac and living the Gospel values of faith, friendship, and service.”
Our Mission
Mission Statement
Christian Community Response Team (formerly Catholic Community Response Team) provides compassionate, Gospel-inspired support and referrals to individuals whose basic needs are unmet.
We offer Christian-centered assistance primarily in the City of Pontiac, delivering intake services and needs assessments to build relationships that help clients overcome obstacles to self-sufficiency. By coordinating with community agencies and providers, we maximize available resources and provide appropriate referrals, expanding the reach and effectiveness of our response.
