Movers & Shakers & Miracle Makers

Movers & Shakers

Movers & Shakers is a dedicated volunteer team that serves clients in need by delivering essential furniture  every Monday. Through generous community support, these items help ensure families have a safe place to sleep and a comfortable space to gather together at home.

Each year, the Movers & Shakers positively impact the lives of more than 200 clients, offering not only household essentials but also hope, dignity, and compassion with every delivery.

Miracle Makers

Miracle Makers are a vital part of the Movers & Shakers program. This committed group of women volunteer their time each Monday to organize, display, and sell donated household items in support of CCRT’s mission.

Sales are held at Silver Lake Church of the Nazarene and serve as an additional fundraising effort that directly supports the Movers & Shakers program. Through their dedication, Miracle Makers help build community connections and ensure donated items find new homes while extending care to those in need.

How you Can Help
Since 2004, CCRT has been assisting Pontiac residents in crisis with essential emergency services-including furniture for families who have lost everything due to fires, bed bug infestations, evictions, or other hardships. Whether they are moving into their first home or rebuilding after a setback, we provide the furniture they need to start fresh.

No child should have to sleep on the floor. With the support of generous donors like you, we provide new mattresses for families to sleep on, couches and chairs to sit in, and dining tables where families can share meals together.  In 2024 alone, we furnished 525 families' furniture-but the geed continues to grow

If you're replacing a couch, dining table, dresser or any kind of chair, please consider donating to CCRT. We also take household goods! Free pickups on Mondays from nearby cities. (Pontiac, Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, Auburn Hills, Rochester, Waterford, Lake Orion, West Bloomfield and Clarkston.)
Handling an estate? If a loved one has passed and their home needs to be cleared, we can ensure their furniture finds a meaningful new purpose.
